Hello, my name is Melissa. I currently work as a NICU nurse and I am thrilled to be a part of the Nourish Team! 

I initially became interested in the perinatal period during nursing school which I graduated from in 2018. I started my career working in acute/critical care with adults and transitioned to the NICU in 2022. In 2021 I became a volunteer with La League Canada offering peer-to-peer breastfeeding support and in 2024 became an IBCLC. Currently I am studying at the University of Windsor in the MScN - Nurse Practitioner program.

With the birth of my 1st child I immersed myself in learning everything I could about breastfeeding in order to navigate my own breastfeeding challenges and gained the lived experience of how difficult the infant feeding journey can be without proper support. With the birth of my 2nd child I was able to appreciate how with each new baby comes new challenges! My work is rooted in empowering my patients/clients to reach their infant feeding goals, while offering a safe, inclusive and non-judgmental space.

When I am not learning or caring for my tiny but mighty patients/clients, I enjoy spending time with my 2 children and husband. I am excited to be servicing my home community in Windsor as well as the surrounding communities of Tecumseh and Lakeshore Ontario!
